Obituary

Edith Lavelle Witt Ward passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Ballad Hospice House in Bristol.
Mrs. Ward was born in Washington County, VA; daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Poston. She was employed locally at the Intermountain Telephone Co., Holston Defense, and Bennett and Edwards Insurance for a total of 29 years. She was a member of Blountville United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Witt, her second husband, William Ward and her brothers Eugene, Fred and James Poston. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Roberta Galloway and Mary Campbell; her stepson Clarence Witt Jr.; sister-in-law Anna Poston Perry and several nieces and nephews.
The family will received friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2019 at East Tennessee Funeral Home, 2630 Hwy 75, Blountville, TN 37617. Funeral services will follow at 2PM with Pastor Susan Arnold of Blountville United Methodist Church. There will be a private graveside service to follow.

Aunt Lavelle- I am so glad we got to spend time with you on our last trip. You are truly an amazing Aunt and will be missed by your family and friends. We kids have enjoyed our summer vacations visiting Dad’s family (Fred Poston) your brother in Tennessee. Enjoyed every minute that we got to spend with the family. Aunt Lavelle- I remember all the years my siblings and I would come to Tennessee every year to see our dad's (Fred Poston) family. We spent alot of time with you and the rest of the family. You were always such a gracious and caring person. You eluded alot of poise and grace - such a beautiful individual. You are now with your family. We love you ❤❤
