The Phillips Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at East Tennessee Funeral Home 2630 Hwy 75, Blountville, TN. with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 pm, Pastor Paul Wright Officiating, the committal service will follow at East Tennessee Cemetery in Blountville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Kingsport First Assembly of God, 2213 Brandon Lane, Kingsport, TN. 37660 or to Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC. 29302

Life Story for Lois Arlene Phillips (Hoover)

Lois Arlene Phillips, formerly of Blountville, TN. passed away peacefully, on December 1, 2017, in Spartanburg, SC. just short of her 91st birthday.

Lois was born in York, PA. on December 18, 1926, where she grew up and graduated from William Penn Senior High School. She later graduated in 1949 from Emergency Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. as a Registered Nurse. Lois lived most of her life in Blountville, TN. and was employed by Bristol Memorial Hospital for over 24 years, serving as the night supervisor as of her retirement, and before that worked at Munal Clinic in Kingsport, TN. Along with her husband George, Lois was caretaker of Camp Placid in Blountville for over 10 years. She attended Kingsport First Assembly of God in Kingsport, TN. and was an active officer and member of the area Aglow International Fellowship for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband: George Phillips, her parents, one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by her son: Mark Phillips (Cinde) of Boiling Springs, SC., daughter: Deborah New of Riverview, FL., son: David Phillips (Mary Pat) of Savage, MN., daughter: Eunice Castillo (Ramiro) of Stafford, VA., eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
